Tables pour Deux was created out of Boredom…No Really! As my last little chic left the nest, I began to wonder what to do with myself and my time. I would often find my days wasting away as time not well spent and having accomplished nothing. I am truly grateful I was gifted (or cursed) with an abundance of creativity…that could just otherwise be interpreted as a “Beeezy Mind”!
So, I found myself constantly wondering where to spend all the creativity and energy and my new bank of time. I was certain my patient and very loving husband could not survive another complete home design “updo”! I live in North Carolina, and life here in the South can always find interest and fun, no matter what the season. We have very beautiful beaches, majestic mountains, and so much in between! Surely I could find a way to once again become inspired.
While Spring cleaning one day, I came across one of my favorite books by one of my very favorite designers and lifestyle experts. I became completely infatuated again with her style and enthusiasm for making each and every corner of her home an opportunity to share time (and romance) with the ones she loves. With a true love of design, entertaining, traveling, gardening, and cooking, I hatched the idea that perhaps I could somehow inspire others by sharing my creative thoughts, my daily life and blessings, and my adventures and incorporating them into a lifestyle blog. Just to keep things interesting, I decided to throw in my lifelong love of fashion…starting with the shoes! An obsession with shoes and purses (we call them pocketbooks around here) started at a very young age. My Grandmother would be so proud!
Tables pour Deux is presented with beautiful settings for two, but I hope it will inspire you to reach for the beautiful things around your own home and share them with ALL your loved ones, old friends and new!
